About Dr. Tara McNamara

I have been a physical therapist for 20+ years with a practice focused on treating the whole person in their home or work environment for a variety of neurological, orthopedic, complex medical issues and wellness training. My goal is to support my clients in achieving their goals: optimal functional mobility.

In High School, I had shoulder surgery at Hospital for Special Surgery followed by physical therapy at a local facility on Long Island. I gained a great respect for the profession when I witnessed patient’s being rehabilitated with skill and care. I decided then to become a Physical Therapist and have dedicated my life to continuing to learn new skills to support my clients.

Testimonials

I first saw Tara after a catastrophic accident. I am in incredibly better shape now than I was before the accident. She used a combination of techniques including manual therapy, stretching, strengthening and postural exercises to get me there. She has a large range of knowledge of different modalities and is able to mix them all up and apply different ones to different issues and prevent little problems that develop from becoming debilitating ones including knee pain and soft tissue pain in the back and neck. Tara is a miracle worker in preventing new issues from developing into major problems. She has a great personality and is fun to work with
